Maura Claffey is a chartered physiotherapist graduating from University College Dublin with a Bsc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Post-graduately, she has worked in both public and private sectors, gaining experience in both musculoskeletal and neurological settings as well as sports specific. Maura holds qualifications in both Dry Needling, Pilates, and Strength and Conditioning. Her special interests include back pain and rehabilitation.
In addition, Maura has specialized in sports injuries and rehabilitation with a Masters in Sports Medicine and Exercise from Trinity College Dublin, and a diploma in Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutritional advisor.
Maura loves working with athletes, and has worked with numerous sports in Ireland including soccer, rugby and athletics. She is a keen cyclist and triathlete herself , and has a special interest in endurance sport. When not competing herself, she enjoys working as team physiotherapist on stage races with the national Irish junior squad. Maura is currently racing competitively in the UAE as a sponsored athlete with Dubai-based Cycling Team Besport-Wilier. She is currently in training for Rás na mBan, a 5 day UCI international stage race in September.
